Projects of Niagara, Affordable Apartment Building,
151 James Street,
St. Catharines
Started May 5, 2006
Goal:
To build 40 affordable, supportive apartments on James Street in St.
Catharines for people of moderate to low income, including those with
specific needs such as people with disabilities, victims of violence and
the homeless. We plan to create an attractive, accessible apartment
building that will blend into the neighbourhood, providing a safe,
affordable and pleasant environment for tenants. Most importantly, we will
provide a co-ordinated support service to assist people with the
transition to greater personal independence. There will be one support
worker on site and tenants will have access to programming offered by
Bethlehem Projects of Niagara. There will also be a live-in
superintendent. |
