Certification of Education (now known as B. Ed.), University of Manitoba;
Post Graduate study at Regent College, University of British Columbia;
Licensed Real Estate Broker, Province of Ontario; numerous and on-going
professional development courses relating to the legal, environmental and
marketing aspects of professional real estate.
Background:
After
being a teacher in both the public and private systems in Manitoba and
Alberta, she was employed by a real estate investment company in Winnipeg
as Executive Assistant to the CEO of the Securities Division.
This involved servicing clients, specifically non-resident
investors from Europe, and providing leadership and supervision of special
projects. In addition, she was asked to serve on the Advisory Council to
the Minister of Social Services for the Province of Manitoba, as a
spokesperson for privately funded, faith based day care providers. She has
also served on non-profit boards, most recently as Chair of Habitat for
Humanity Niagara, a Christian based housing ministry. In 2000, she led the
organization in the establishment of the ReStore, a retail outlet selling
new and used construction materials with proceeds from sales designated to
building affordable housing in the region.
After working as a licensed real estate sales person since 1992,
she founded JustShelter Realty Services, Inc. with a commitment to
providing full real estate services as well as marketing services related
to the development of special housing projects initiated by R. N.
Halverson Development Consultants Inc.
Experience:

Provided
marketing services for a 30 unit non-profit life lease complex;
assisted buyers with transition decisions and marketed their homes on
the resale market as sellers.

presentations to seniors groups on housing issues: affordability,
downsizing, aging in place and renovating a home for safety and
wellness.

Offers to Lease/Purchase; maintained accounting and data records of
client transactions; managed the real estate trust account.

Assisted
in the development process of non-profit housing projects by meeting
with interested groups and guiding them through organizational
structures and requirements.

marketing materials and provided marketing presence on-site; met with
prospective buyers; organized focus groups and gathered results from
surveys related to specific projects and proposals.

articles for SeniorShelter newsletter and web site on issues related
