Many of our friends or parents living in mobile home parks in
Florida or Arizona. Its an amazing experience to see these facilities, especially if
you haven't yet attained gray hair. Talk about feeling out of place. Almost
everyone is over 60. Guys talk about golf cart maintenance instead of cars.
This
kind of living offers two important benefits. Its warm and there is plenty of
company.
The down side is that many friends
and family are far away.
Look at the AARP web site for
information on these
homes. You may find it inviting.
Locally there are seasonal homes like Black Creek Village or Sherkston Beach where for
6 months you can have a home away from home. What some are doing is
having a summer home at Sherkston and a winter home in
Florida. A word
of caution. These homes depreciate in value fairly quickly, much
like automobiles. Our advice is to buy used, not new. Then if
you must have new, at least you will know if you like this style of
living. |
